FACTS AND TRIVIA

Amazons appeared in three episodes of HTLJ: Prodigal Sister (Season 4 Episode 7), Love Amazon Style (Season 6 Episode 2), and Sky High (Season 5 Episode 12). In the last, only Danielle Cormack (Ephiny) appeared as an Amazon. One of the TV movies that led to the series was Hercules and the Amazon Women.

Katrina Browne and Joy van Uden were amazons in other series; van Uden in Xena (Rhea), and Browne in Young Hercules (Cyane).

The Amazon Lysia in Hercules and the Amazon Women was played by Lucy Lawless. This was her first character in what would become the Xenaverse.

Roma Downey (Hippolyta) became well-known later for her role in TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. Amber Sainsbury who was an unnamed Amazon in Love Amazon Style, became well-known for her role in the religious drama HEX (she was less than angelic).

Simone Kessell (Jana and Kayla - two different Amazons) is now Louise in the 2011 New Zealand film PANIC AT ROCK ISLAND

Marama Jackson (Lucenne) was First Rhine Maiden in two episodes of XWP.

Nina Sosanya (Chilla) is now Kate Brockman in the BBC series SILK.

Katrina Browne also played two characters in XWP: Thalassa in "Locked Up and Tied Down", and Mendala in "When in Rome...".

Joy van Uden (Rhea in XWP, unnamed Amazon in HTLJ) was a cheerleader for a while for the Vodaphone Warriors rugby team in New Zealand. One could assume that her character in HTLJ was Rhea (her Amazon character in the XWP episode "Kindred Spirits") but that the name was just not mentioned.

Sonia Gray ("gorgeous amazon") is New Zealand's version of Vanna White on WHEEL OF FORTUNE.
